- Essential: Doctoral degree in Agriculture/Animal Science/Fisheries/Community Science/Horticulture/Sericulture with 8 years experience (excluding Ph.D. period) as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist in Pay Band 3 (₹15,600-39,100) with grade pay ₹5,400/6,000/7,000/8,000.
- Desirable: Specialization in implementing extension education programmes.

- Essential: Master's degree in Agriculture/Animal Science/Fisheries Science from a recognized university.
