The 20th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is expected to be disbursed by the end of June 2025, aligning with the scheme’s regular payment schedule. Although the government has yet to officially confirm the date, past trends suggest that the upcoming Rs. 2,000 installment could be released in the final week of June.
Overview of PM-KISAN Scheme
Launched in 2019 and introduced in the Interim Budget by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, the PM-Kisan scheme provides annual financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 to eligible farmers. This amount is paid in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 every four months – during the April to July, August to November and December to March periods and is directly credited to the farmers’ bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Progress of Installments So Far
A total of 19 installments have already been disbursed under the scheme. The most recent, the 19th installment, was released in February 2025 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, benefiting over 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.4 crore women. The 18th and 17th installments were released in October 2024 and June 2024, respectively.
Expected Timeline for the 20th Installment
Based on the scheme’s cycle and historical release patterns, the 20th installment is anticipated to be credited by the end of June 2025. While the exact date and location for the official event are yet to be announced, it is likely to take place in the last week of the month.
Steps Farmers Should Take in Preparation
To avoid any delay in receiving the upcoming payment, farmers are advised to:
- Complete their e-KYC process
- Verify their eligibility under the scheme
- Check their name in the updated beneficiary list
- Register as new applicants if they haven’t applied yet
By following these steps, farmers can ensure they receive timely benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme.
