🌟 Shape the future of Punjab’s agriculture: PAU seeks highly experienced consultants for a prestigious large-scale soil mapping project (1:10,000 scale) across Ludhiana, Moga, Tarn Taran & Fatehgarh Sahib. This is a specialized role for experts in GIS and soil science.
🌾 About the Project (CSS-100, PC-6470, ZBSA)
The Department of Soil Science is executing a critical project: “Detailed soil survey and mapping of some selected districts (Ludhiana, Moga, Tarn Taran and Fatehgarh Sahib) of Punjab at scale of 1:10,000.” This role is contractual and co-terminus with the project.
🎓 Who Can Apply? (Essential Criteria)
- Ph.D. in Soil Science from a recognized university.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Remote Sensing and GIS applications related to soil analysis.
➕ Desirable Advantage:
- Retired faculty with hands-on experience in routine and advanced soil analytical instruments, combined with remote sensing and GIS expertise, will be given preference.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor project team members through all phases: pre-field preparations, extensive fieldwork, and post-field data analysis as per the project’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Take a hands-on role in soil surveys, precision soil sampling, field data collection, laboratory analysis, and advanced digital mapping.
- Collaborate closely with all team members of the NSMP Soil Mapping Project to ensure project milestones are met.
