CM-Kisan Yojana: Over 51 Lakh Farmers Set to Receive Rs. 1,041 Crores Tomorrow – Are You on the List?

CM-Kisan Yojana Update: In a major push towards empowering farmers across Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to disburse financial assistance of Rs. 1,041 crores to more than 51 lakh farmers under the CM Kisan Yojana on the occasion of Nuakhai, a prominent agrarian festival celebrated in western Odisha. The disbursement will take place on Thursday, marking a significant milestone in the implementation and expansion of the scheme.

The state-level event is being organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment, with the goal of extending financial relief and support to small, marginal, landless and urban farmers. The scheme uses Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to ensure transparency and timely assistance directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

What is CM-Kisan Yojana?

The CM Kisan Yojana was officially launched by CM Majhi on September 8, 2024, during last yearтАЩs Nuakhai celebrations. In its first phase, the scheme benefited nearly 46 lakh small, marginal and landless farmers. This year, the scheme has been significantly expanded to cover over 51 lakh farmers, marking a major step forward in OdishaтАЩs commitment to farmer welfare and rural development.

The scheme was specifically designed to include those who are not covered under the central governmentтАЩs Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). It provides Rs. 4,000 annually, disbursed in two equal installments, to small and marginal farmers.

Combined Benefits of CM-Kisan Yojana and PM-Kisan

With the integration of the CM-Kisan Yojana with the PM-KISAN scheme, Odisha farmers can now access benefits through a unified platform based on their eligibility. The CM-KISAN portal – cmkisan.odisha.gov.in acts as a one-stop solution for farmer registration and access to both schemes.

HereтАЩs a breakdown of the benefits:

  • Small and Marginal Farmers (Rural Areas): Eligible farmers in this category will receive Rs. 4,000 per year from the state under CM-KISAN, in addition to Rs. 6,000 annually from PM-KISAN, totaling Rs. 10,000 per year.
  • Urban Small and Marginal Farmers: Urban farmers who meet the eligibility criteria can also avail the full Rs.10,000 annual assistance from both schemes.
  • Medium and Large Farmers: This category is eligible only for PM-KISAN and will receive Rs. 6,000 per year, disbursed in three installments.
  • Landless Agricultural Households: One of the key highlights of the CM Kisan Yojana is its support for landless farmers, who are often excluded from mainstream agricultural schemes. Under this initiative, landless farming households will receive Rs. 12,500 annually, paid in three installments, aimed at improving their livelihoods and economic stability.
