🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Essential qualifications differ by college. The specific list of "concerned/allied/relevant" subjects for each discipline is in Annexure-III of the official notification — the screening committee's interpretation of relevance is final.

Agriculture, Community Science, Basic Sciences & Humanities, and Fisheries

• Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
• Plus NET (UGC/ICAR/CSIR) or SLET/SET, or a Ph.D. awarded per UGC 2009/2016 Regulations (which exempts NET/SLET/SET) — subject to conditions: regular-mode Ph.D., evaluated by 2+ external examiners, open viva voce held, 2 research papers published (1+ in a refereed journal), and 2+ conference presentations at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-supported events
• OR a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the global top 500 (QS, THE, or Shanghai ARWU, at any point)

Veterinary & Animal Sciences

• B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a Veterinary Council of India-recognised college, registered with a state/central Veterinary Council
• Plus the same Master's+NET/SLET/SET-or-Ph.D. route described above, or the foreign top-500 Ph.D. route

College of Technology

• Per AICTE Regulation 2019: B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. (or Integrated M.Tech.) in the relevant branch, with first class or equivalent in at least one of the two degrees

College of Agribusiness Management

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline plus Master's in Business Administration/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com, with first class or equivalent
• Plus 2 years' professional experience after acquiring the Master's degree

Relaxations

• 5% relaxation at both Bachelor's and Master's level for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled candidates (as defined in the notice), for eligibility and "good academic record" assessment — applied only to qualifying marks, no grace marks
• 5% relaxation (55%→50%) for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19 September 1991

📍 Reservation & Domicile Rule

For horizontal reservation: if no eligible candidate is available under a sub-category (except PH), the post is filled by a suitable candidate from the original category; if it still remains vacant, it is re-advertised with the same horizontal reservation.

💳 Application Fee

Payable via Demand Draft in favour of "Comptroller, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar," payable at SBI (Branch Code 1133), PNB (Branch Code 4446), or UCO Bank (Branch Code 0678). Fee is non-refundable once paid, and applications without the correct fee will not be entertained.

3. Attach Documents: Recent self-attested passport photo, self-attested copies of degree certificates/mark sheets/experience certificates, publication reprints, caste/domicile certificate if claiming reservation, and the Demand Draft.
4. Superscribe the Envelope: "Application for the post of (Name of Post with Sl. No. & Discipline) for (Name of the College)."

🧮 Selection Process

Step I — Shortlisting by Academic Score (out of 100)

• Graduation: up to 15 marks
• Post-Graduation: up to 25 marks
• M.Phil. + Ph.D.: up to 30 marks combined
• NET with JRF / NET / SLET-SET: up to 7 marks
• Research publications: up to 10 marks (2 marks each, peer-reviewed/NAAS-rated/UGC-listed journals)
• Teaching/post-doctoral experience: up to 10 marks (2 marks/year, pro-rated for partial years)
• Awards: up to 3 marks (international/national) or 2 marks (state-level)

A merit list is prepared from this score, and candidates are shortlisted for interview in a ratio of 10× for the first post in a discipline, plus 5× for each additional post in the same discipline.

Step II — Interview (out of 20)

Final selection is based only on interview performance — the Step I academic score is used solely to decide who gets shortlisted for interview, not for the final merit ranking.

• Meeting the essential qualification does not guarantee an interview call — the University may screen and shortlist further based on eligibility, qualifications, experience, and publications; it may also hold a written/qualifying exam.
• No TA/DA for attending the interview or test.
• Original documents are produced for verification at the interview; in-service candidates need an NOC from their employer, and should apply through proper channel.
• Qualifications/experience are reckoned as on the last date of application submission, not the interview date.
• False or concealed information discovered later — even after appointment — can lead to termination.
• The University reserves the right to not fill any or all advertised posts, without giving reasons.
• Selected candidates may be placed at any campus, research centre, or Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the University, as required.
• Legal disputes fall under the jurisdiction of District Udham Singh Nagar / Uttarakhand High Court.

• Per a Government of Uttarakhand order dated 23.07.2026: prior service in a project/KVK is not counted for service benefits after appointment to these posts; the Agribusiness Management post is funded only from the college's own income.
