Division of Seed Science & Technology
  • National leader in seed production, quality evaluation, storage, and physiology
  • Developed cutting-edge technologies: SpeedySeed, Uniprime Technology, BruchGuard, SeedilMorphX, Grain-Ex
  • Pioneered non-destructive seed quality evaluation methods
  • Standardized seed quality assessment procedures

School of Horticultural Science

Division of Fruits & Horticultural Technology
  • Released 35 varieties of fruit crops: mango (10), citrus (6), grape (8), papaya (6), guava (3)
  • Developed rootstocks for High Density Orcharding (HDO) in mango and citrus
  • Sold over 1.20 lakh fruit saplings covering 372.35 ha in past 5 years
  • Offers MSc and PhD programs in horticulture
Division of Vegetable Science
  • Developed 268 cultivars (227 varieties, 41 hybrids)
  • Notable varieties: Pusa Bhindi-5 (YVMV resistant), Pusa Shakti tomato (heat tolerant), Pusa Tomato Hybrid-6 (ToLCV resistant)
  • Varieties developed for protected cultivation and higher nutritional value
  • 966 scholars graduated (522 PhD, 444 MSc)
Division of Floriculture and Landscaping
  • Developed 267 varieties of commercial flower crops
  • International authority for registration of bougainvillea cultivars

Division of Plant Physiology
  • Home to Nanaji Deshmukh Plant Phenomics Centre - South Asia's state-of-the-art facility
  • Pioneered world's first genome-edited rice variety
  • Research focus: climate resilience, nutrient use efficiency, yield and quality improvement

Division of Biochemistry
